Novena for Addiction Recovery
Dear Lord, we thank You and praise You for Your never-ending mercy and love. We come before You to implore Your assistance in recovery from addiction.
You know intimately the many struggles and sufferings that people face each day in our fallen world. We know that You are always ready to help us in these struggles and sufferings whenever we ask. We ask You now to be with us and with all who are suffering because of an addiction.
Please graciously pour Your grace upon all those who are struggling with addiction, especially those who are having trouble admitting their problem!
Help us to remember that You always long to help us in all things. Help us to turn to You for help in every circumstance of need or suffering we face in our lives.
I especially ask in this novena (mention your intentions here).
Lord, have mercy on us, now and always!

Behold me, O my God, at Your feet! I do not deserve mercy, but O my Redeemer, the blood with You have shed for me encourages me and obliges me to hope for it. How often I have offended You, repented, and yet have I again fallen into the same sin. O my God, I wish to amend, and in order to be faithful to You, I will place all my confidence in You. I will, whenever I am tempted, instantly have recourse to You. Until now, I have trusted in my own promises and resolutions and have neglected to recommend myself to You in my temptations. This has been the cause of my repeated failures. Saint Jude Prayer for Addiction
God of life, You made me in Your perfect image, to live in Your love and to give You glory, honor and praise. Open my heart to Your healing power. Come, Lord Jesus, calm my soul just as you whispered “Peace” to the stormy sea. Saint Jude, most holy Apostle, in my need I reach out to you. I beg you to intercede for me that I may find strength to overcome my illness. Bless all those who struggle with addiction. Touch them, heal them, reassure them of the Father’s constant love. Remain at my side, Saint Jude, to chase away all evil temptations, fears, and doubts. May the quiet assurance of your loving presence illuminate the darkness in my heart and bring lasting peace. Prayer for the Addicted
God of mercy, we bless you in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, who ministered to all who come to Him. Give your strength to (name of the one I am praying for), who is bound by the chains of addiction. Enfold him/her in your love and restore him/her to freedom through your grace. Lord, look with compassion on all those who have lost their health and have broken relationships because of their attachment to the object of their addiction. Restore to them the assurance of your unfailing mercy, and strengthen them in the work of recovery. To those who care for them, grant patient understanding and a love that perseveres. Lord, in your servant, Venerable Matt Talbot you have given us a wonderful example of triumph over addiction, of devotion to duty, and of lifelong reverence of the Holy Sacrament. May his life of prayer and penance give (name of the one I am praying for) courage to take up his/her cross and follow in the footsteps of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Family and Friends Prayer for the Addicted
Saint Maximilian Maria Kolbe, your life of love and labor for souls was sacrificed amid the horrors of a concentration camp and hastened to its end by an injection of a deadly drug.
Look with compassion upon ___________________ who is now entrapped in addiction to drugs and whom we now recommend to your powerful intercession.
Having offered your own life to preserve that of a family man, we turn to you with trust, confident that you will understand and help.
Obtain for us the grace never to withhold our love and understanding, nor to fail in persevering prayer that the enslaving bonds of addiction may be broken and that full health and freedom may be restored to him / her whom we love.
We will never cease to be grateful to God who has helped us and heard your prayer for us. Amen.
Prayer for alcohol addiction
Father, God of new beginnings and healing, in utmost humility and trust, I pray to you as I fight alcohol addiction. Grant me courage and perseverance as I strive to live a life of holiness and sobriety. Please help me to persevere in this healing journey. Be with me as my constant help and guide. Through Christ our Lord.

Prayer to Venerable Matt Talbot for healing from alcoholism
Venerable Matt Talbot, in your early years, you were exposed to alcohol and drinking. You were once a slave to the detriments of alcohol addiction. However, your unwavering faith and devotion freed you from the chains of alcoholism, and you lived a life of holiness.
In humility and sincerity, I come to you to pray for your intercession as I struggle with alcohol addiction. Please help me find the courage and strength to fight the desire to drink. Inspire me through your life to dedicate myself to a life of sobriety and goodness.
Pray to God for me, Venerable Matt, that He may grant me the grace and temperance I need to overcome alcohol addiction. Intercede for me that God may give me the wisdom and compassion I need. May I follow your example. May I experience the exact conversion, transformation, and freedom you did.
Venerable Matt, help me to persevere on the road to healing and recovery. Remind me always that there is hope and new beginnings. May I live a life worthy of praising God in all that I do.

Novena For Alcohol Addiction
Dear St. Monica, troubled wife and mother,
Many sorrows pierced your heart during your lifetime.
Yet you never despaired or lost faith.
With confidence, persistence and profound faith,
you prayed daily for the conversion of your beloved husband, Patricius,
and your beloved son, Augustine.
Grant me that same fortitude, patience and trust in the Lord.
Intercede for me, dear St. Monica,

Prayer of Healing for Alcoholics
O Glorious Saint Matthias, in God’s design it fell upon you to take the place of the unfortunate Judas who betrayed his Master.
You were selected by the twofold sign of the uprightness of your life and the call of the Holy Spirit.
Obtain for us the grace to practice the same uprightness of life and to be called by that same Spirit to wholehearted service of the Church.
Help us remember that Jesus chose you, like us, not for what you were but because of what you would become through His grace.
Please help all who struggle with the addiction of alcoholism to experience this same grace and come to live in the serenity and joy of a life surrendered to God.
In Jesus’ name we pray.
