Prayer of Parents for Their Children
O Jesus, Lover of Children, bestow Your Most precious graces on those whom You have confided to our care. Increase in them Faith, Hope and Charity. May Your love lead them to solid piety, inspiring them with dread for sin, love of work and an ardent desire of worthily approaching Your Holy Table. Preserve in them innocence and purity of heart; and if they should offend You, grant them the grace of a prompt and sincere repentance. From Your Tabernacle watch over them day and night; protect them in all their ways. Grant that they may acquire the knowledge that they need to embrace the state of life to which You have called them. Grant us a sincere love, constant vigilance and generous devotedness towards them. Grant us all consolation on earth and eternal reward in heaven.
Prayer of Parents for Their Children # 2
O Lord, omnipotent Father, we give you thanks for having given us children. They are our joy, and we accept with serenity the worries, fears and labours which bring us pain. Help us to live them sincerely. Through us you gave life to them; from eternity you knew them and loved them. Give us wisdom to guide them, patience to teach them, vigilance to accustom them to the good through our example.
Support our love so that we may receive them back when they have strayed and make them good. It is often so difficult to understand them, to be as they would want us to be, to help them to go on their way. Grant that they may always see our home as a haven in their time of need. Teach us and help us, O good Father, through the merits of Jesus, your Son and our Lord.

We now bring you this little child
whom we desire to dedicate to your Precious Blood.

so that he/she may persevere in the grace
of his/her baptism which makes him/her a child of God.
O crucified Jesus,
grant N. a haven in your holy wounds.
Conceal him/her in the opening in your Sacred heart.

and to your divine Blood this child
that he/she may remain faithful to your Holy Spirit

Turn your loving gaze, O God, upon young people.
They carry in their hearts a great hope:
make them strong and pure, so that they can build their tomorrow with confidence.
Let them receive freely the gift of the faith, accept it with gratitude, and develop it with generosity.
Mother of Christ, and our Mother, help them to be now and forever faithful to Christ and the Church.

to see you,
hear you,
talk to you,

guide us together

Loving God,
please protect our youth from the dangers
present in our world today.
Be with them through sickness and health,
sorrow and joy, loneliness and friendship,
success and failure.
Give them the courage and strength to make the right decisions. We ask this through Christ, Our Lord.

Dear Lord, we pray for this new generation, the young men and women of today. Shine your truth into their hearts as they hear you in music, see you in art, and experience you through the love and care of family, friends and teachers. Build your hope into their lives as they encounter the power of nature, the majesty of the oceans, and the beauty in creation.
Sow your wisdom into their minds as they read the bible, discuss deeper issues of life, or encounter hardships or difficulties. Weave your love into their dreams as they find vision in their interests, opportunities for their talents, and aspirations for their abilities. Amen
Holy Spirit of Love
we pray to you for the youth of our parish and diocese.
Fill their hearts with the certainty that you have chosen them to love, to praise, and to serve!
Enable them to savor your friendship.
Fill them with your joy and consolation.
Help them to overcome moments of difficulty and to rise up again with trust after they have fallen.
Give them the courage to face the challenges of our time and the joy of living in friendship with our Savior Jesus Christ.
God and Father, you are the divine companion. We ask you to continue to be with young people as they experience sorrow and joy, loneliness and friendship Guide and protect them from the dangers that are present in our world today. Gracious God, give to them and their families the courage to follow you as they journey through life. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, may they experience your loving care and mercy. We offer to you, Loving God, the gifts and needs of youth.
Bless them with your guiding grace as they face the challenges and opportunities in their lives.
Touch their hearts with the gentleness of your love, that they may know they are valued and valuable beings.
Send your spirit of hope to their lives, that they may believe in themselves and know they are needed in this world.
Grace them with the gift of joy that they may celebrate life through laughter and tears alike.
Guide us, as we continue to grow in appreciation of the many gifts of young people, in the ministry opportunities we offer to them, in the journey of faith we walk with them, in our shared mission as a community called to discipleship in the world.

Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, to you we turn in humble prayer. Look with favor upon all young people, bearers of hope for the Church and the world.
Jesus Christ, companion of youth and young adults, bless the paths of discovery and discernment, through times of joy and experiences of hardship, with the constant love and support of your Church.
Jesus Christ, alive in the hearts of all your people, grant that we may “journey together, young and old… to nourish our enthusiasm, cause dreams to emerge, awaken prophesies and enable hope to blossom.”
Jesus Christ, Redeemer of all humankind, open our hearts to encounter all young people, to accompany and be in community together, and as one Church, embark upon our holy mission.
Jesus Christ, in the company of the Father and the Holy Spirit, graciously hear our prayer and be with us forevermore.

Rebellious Youth
Dear Lord, you have witnessed the rebelliousness of youth since the very beginnings of time. You understand a parent’s anguish and helplessness over the actions of his child. Please help us to transform our anger and frustration into loving care for our child who has gone astray. Help us begin to mend our broken fences and heal our broken hearts. Bless our child and also help him to mend the error of his ways. Help and bless us all to do right in Your name and restore us to peace and tranquility.

Dear Lord,
As our students begin a new school year,
I pray that you will keep them in your care.
Send your Spirit to open their minds
to all that is true and beautiful and good
Help them to see the gifts and talents
you have given them and to use them well.
Help them to grow in knowledge and wisdom.
Help them to be kind to others
and lead others to be kind to them.
Give their teachers patience and understanding
and help them teach what is just and true.
Send your angels to guide and guard our
children and to keep them from all harm.
Open their young hearts to your presence
and enfold them in your peace and protection.
Hold them in the palm of your hand
and bring them home safely at day’s end.
