Who He Was
St. Homobonus (†1197) was a layman, a married merchant from Cremona, Italy. Unlike many saints of his time, he was not a priest or monk—he was a hardworking business owner who lived holiness in his daily work.
His name Homobonus literally means “good man.”

How He Died
