PRAYERS FOR CATHOLIC EDUCATION FOR ALL TEACHERS & WORKERS

Prayer for Education and Workers

O God, who in your providence chose St. Joseph to be the earthly guardian of your Son and the protector of the Holy Family, grant us, we pray, the grace to follow his example of hard work, humility, and service. May he intercede for us in our daily needs and guide us to find joy and purpose in our work. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

A Prayer for Teachers

Loving God, all wisdom and knowledge come from you. Bless all teachers so that as we guide our students, they too will be guided by your grace. Let us always see your face, Jesus, in the faces of those we teach. Help us understand that we instruct other much more by who we are than by what we say. Strengthen us with enthusiasm for our ministry, and hold us up on the days we need encouragement and sustenance. Give us patience when managing classrooms and perseverance when grading. May we have the support of administrators and parents as we collaborate in the formation of young people. We also pray for adequate resources that allow us to do our jobs well. Most important, God, let your love be the guiding principle that informs and upholds our ministry. We pray these things in the name of Jesus, our Savior and our Teacher. Amen

Prayer for Teachers

God of Love, thank you for every teacher who notices a child’s special gift. Thank you for teachers who are listeners and gentle guides. Thank you for teachers who expect much and love enough to demand more. Thank you for the special teacher each one of us remembers.

God of Mercy, sustain teachers who give everything they have. Strengthen teachers who assume the blame for so many problems beyond their control. Help exhausted teachers rest.

God of Strength, encourage teacher to care and inspire them to nourish. Motivate teachers to keep on learning for the fun of it and to make learning enjoyable for children.

We wonder at teachers who know how to quiet a class of five-year-olds or help fourth graders be empathetic. We admire teachers who enjoy middle school writers, or teach physics or math of history. Bless the people who are expected to accomplish these miracles and who know how to comfort children when miracles don’t happen.

God of Justice, help and support teachers in their special calling, wherever they teach and whatever obstacles they must face. We pray these things in the name of our great teacher, Jesus Christ.

Amen

A Prayer for Teachers

Lord God, your spirit of wisdom fills the earth and teaches us your ways. Look upon these teachers. Let them strive to share their knowledge with gentle patience and endeavor always to bring the truth to eager minds. Grant that they may follow Jesus Christ, the way, the truth, and the life, forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer for Teachers

Lord,  Bless our faculty, staff, and volunteers. Thank You for calling them to work with our children. Give them a spirit of grace and compassion. Bless them with strength and endurance to perform their many tasks, and may they know and fell the deep gratitude of those whom they teach and serve.

Amen.

Prayer for Educators

National Catholic Educational Association

Almighty God,
You sent forth your Son as a beacon of hope for all people.
As a Teacher, He has given us the prime example of the importance of education.
As disciples, we look to him for inspiration and strength.
Thank you for the many people who have dedicated their lives
in service to our Catholic Schools.
Thank you for the teachers and administrators who sustain our schools.
Thank you for the parents who have given support and witness to the importance of Catholic education.
Thank you for the students who work hard to further their education.
Bless all our Catholic Schools and the many people who advance our mission.
May our schools be a home for those who seek to grow in openness, faith,
love, intellect, and commitment to justice.
In your name, we pray.  Amen.

Prayer for a Teacher

Heavenly Father, who promised that all those who instruct others in the ways of holiness will shine as stars for all eternity, fill our hearts and minds with true knowledge and the art of teaching. Give us patience and understanding, justice and prudence, humility and fear of the Lord. Grant us wisdom and charity so that with a pure and holy love of God we ourselves may enjoy all these gifts and impart them to our pupils. Teach our children to be obedient to your laws and docile to your inspirations. Let them be instruments of your peace in their homes, in our land, and in the family of nations as becomes children of the sons of God in the Mystical Body of Christ. May the blessings of your sevenfold Gifts be in all who teach and in all who learn through the Holy Spirit who is the Love of the Father and the Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

St Elizabeth Ann Seton, Patron Saint of Catholic Schools

Holy Father, You called Elizabeth Ann Seton to educate Your children. Inspire us, by her example, to find Your will in the present moment. Through her prayers, may we learn to teach others how to love like You.  We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Teacher.

Amen.
